Provision & Handling of Research Data

On September 25, 2019, the General Assembly of the Academy of Sociology adopted the “Guidelines for Handling Research Data in Sociology” in Constance. Reusable data is essential for open and transparent research, and a key prerequisite for making empirical results comprehensible across individuals. In addition, reusable data enables questions that were not foreseeable at the time of primary surveys to be investigated at a later date, ensuring resource-saving use of public funds and optimal knowledge gain through cumulative research.
